It is with great sadness that the National Press Club inform the death of its House and Grounds Chairman, Ananthan A/L Thangavelunadar who passed away at the Kajang Hospital at 7AM today.

Ananthan who has been with the club for over 25 years, drew his last breath after suffering from stroke on Saturday.

The 58 years old Kajang-born is survived by his wife, Paramesvari Theyvee A/P Ratnam.

Ananthan first foray into journalism began 35 years ago as general news reporter for the-now-defunct Tamil Nesan. Since then, he has worked for other newsrooms, including Bernama TV. During his stint in the media, Ananthan had also set up his own Tamil newspaper, Shanakyan.

He was a passionate commentator of political and societal issues concerning the Tamils and was also an active member of the Malaysian Indian Congress’ social community wing.

His wake will be held tomorrow morning, from 11AM – 2PM, at his residence at: No 6 Block A,Taman Rasa Sayang, Batu 8, Cheras ,43200 Selangor.

Gone but not forgotten.
