There were cheers of ‘Malaysia Boleh’, followed by a series of karaoke and live music sessions.

Such was the scene at the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM)-National Press Club of Malaysia (NPC) get-together held at the clubhouse on May 19.

The intimate affair was attended by BAM president Tan Sri Norza Zakaria, his deputies Datuk Seri Jahaberdeen Mohamed Yunoos and Datuk V. Subramaniam, BAM secretary-general Datuk Kenny Goh and BAM management committee member Taupik Hussain.

Earlier, guests watched the Sudirman Cup quarterfinals match between Malaysia and Denmark, which the national team won 3-1.

Later, those present were entertained by NPC member and New Straits Times sports journalist, Fabian Mark Peter. Fabian sang several songs, earning praise from the BAM officials who were hearing him sing for the first time.

Norza, who is also Badminton Asia’s honorary president, sang a Hari Raya song and later sang a duet with NPC vice president, Farrah Naz Karim, who is also the group editor of the New Straits Times.

The event was sponsored by BAM.

Both BAM and the NPC look forward to such get-togethers in the near future.
