The National Press Club Malaysia (NPC) defended its Sabah Media-NPC Goodwill Games title with a 3-2 overall victory over Sabah recently.

The event, held from July 3-5 in George Town, Penang and hosted by the Penang Press Club (PPC), saw members of the media from Sabah take on their NPC counterparts in five events: badminton, bowling, darts, football and pool.

NPC won 15-6 in the pool tournament before defeating Sabah 10-6 in the darts competition. At the Penang Bowl, NPC edged the Sabah team 22-20.

Sabah managed wins in badminton (4-3) and football (4-2).

Penang Tourism and Creative Economy exco Wong Hon Wai officiated the event, together with NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan, Kota Kinabalu Media and Communications Club chairman Christopher Bernard Maskilone, and PPC president Ang Tong Kai.

The inaugural event was held in Kota Kinabalu in 2022.
